WTF is up with Chuck Norris Part 2

In the last blog entry, I touched on how redneck right-wingers love to bear arms anytime they feel their right are being encroached upon by the government. Well that was pretty much validated last week when the Elvis of Karate, Chuck Norris wrote a column called “I may run for president of Texas”. I’m not linking to that evil place, I’ll just excerpt the first 2 sentences:

On Glenn Beck’s radio show last week, I quipped in response to our wayward federal government, “I may run for president of Texas.”

That need may be a reality sooner than we think. If not me, someone someday may again be running for president of the Lone Star state, if the state of the union continues to turn into the enemy of the state.

So apparently in the 50 some-odd days since Barack Obama became president, the state of the union has deteriorated to the point where ceding from the good ole US & A is an option.  Chuckie says the Obama administration is moving the country away from ideals of the slave owners who created this country 230 years ago … Namely: 1. Pledging $900 million to Hamas controlled Gaza. 2. Running up the US deficit 3. Ignoring the Constitution by circumventing the checks and balances of the 3 branches of government and 4. secularizing the country.  Which means that you have to forget about separation of chuuch and state; the Patriot Act shredding the constitution to bits; the Bush administration running up the score on the deficit like a Globetrotters – Generals game; and the US completely ignoring apartheid Gaza for years, fueling a tinderbox for anti-Israeli sentiment throughout the middle east. He goes on to write in pointless detail the historical reasons why Texas can break off from the United States (before being promptly invaded by the US and being re-annexed) that some of us had already learned in high school.

To the Texas Ranger, somehow the actions of the Obama administration have been egregious enough to merit a ridiculous day called “We Surround Them“. Last Friday the Cult of Chuck and Glenn led concerned conservatives in a day of surrounding the rest us in a circle-jerk of protest. I really don’t get it.. or I guess didn’t get it and apparently it was about as successful as that laser-precision iceberg detection system on the Titanic.

The worst part of it is that it was a dog whistle signal to rednecks out there who don’t want to believe that the Obama presidency is legitimate. It was a call to arms, however covert and Chuck and Glenn are feeding off of and stirring up a lot of racist and redneck resentment. As crazy as he is, calling the Obama administration “enemy of the state” shouldn’t be taken lightly.
The best part of it all, is that Chuck Norris is doing more harm than good to conservatives with his talk of treason. Not to mention he’s ethering his legacy which each act of crazy.

If I was Barack Obama, I’d have this to say:

“Uh.. Look. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, the man has taken a few too many kicks to the head in his lifetime. He’s just trying to boost DVD sales of Missing in Action I, II & III. Ignore Chuck Norris. Stay off his lawn and he’ll just go away.”

  1. I use to like Walker Texas Ranger because it had a Message. When he endorsed Huckabee I stopped watching his show. I should have stopped watching it when he said he could beat Bruce Lee if Bruce were still alive. And to think, I thought he really was pushing the world down with each and every push up… Damn You Chuck.. Damn You!

  2. He said he could beat Bruce Lee? Dude has lost his mind.. Well he did just turn 69. Once people turn 60, they start saying any old thing.
